Getting Started
Tagging is going to increase your overall staffing and project planning experience. You can match People to Project Roles based on granular traits like skill set, tools, languages, experience level, industry experience, work or travel restrictions, and any other aspects that are important to help identify unique characteristics for roles.
Permission Levels:
Create and Edit the Organization's Tag Garden within Settings
You must have access to Settings Access - Tags.
Add or Remove Tags on People within Settings
You must have access to Settings > People.
Add or Remove Tags on People within Assignments View
You must have access to Project Editing - Global Resourcing.
Add or Remove Tags on Service Offerings within Settings
You must have access to Settings Access - Service Offerings.
Add or Remove Tags on Roles, Projects, and People within a project
You must have access to Project Editing - Project Updates.

Create Tags: On this page, you can Create, Rename, and Delete Categories and Tags.
Creating Categories
Before you can create a Tag, you have to create a category for your Tags to belong to.
- Locate and click the green 'Create Category' button in the top right corner
- Enter in your new Category name
- Click 'Save'
Creating Tags
You can create tags that can be applied to people, projects, project roles, and service offering templates.
- Find the Category this tag should fall under
- Click 'Create Tag'
- Enter the Tag name
- Click 'Save'
Looking to change something?
Not a problem at all. Categories and Tags can be renamed or deleted.
Editing Tags
Tag Editing
- Hover over the Tag you would like to edit
- Select the action you would like to complete
Category Editing
- Hover over the Category you would like to edit
- Select the action you would like to complete
To delete a Tags Category, you must delete all of the tags that belong to it before you can delete the category itself.
Tags in Settings > People
Within the Settings > People settings, you can add tags to a Person.
Adding tags within the Settings > People profile
- Click on the Person you would like to add tags to
- Go to the 'Tags' section
- Select the tag(s) you would like to add
- Click 'Save'
All categories and tags are listed in a dropdown once you start using the typeahead search bar.
Tags in Service Offerings
Tags can be added to your Service Offering templates.
If you assign a tag to a service offering role, every time you apply that service offering the corresponding tags will be inherited.
- Click into the Service Offering you would like to add tags to
- Hover over a role
- Click the tag icon
- In the modal, assign a tag to the role
Tags will not be applied retroactively to historical/already in-use service offerings--only going forward.

Time to head over to the shaper to see another way to add tags.
Tagging Roles
- Go to Assignments
- Stay in 'People View'
- Turn on 'Edit Mode'
- Hover over the individual you would like to add a tag to
- Click the 'Tag' Icon
- Find and Select the Tag you would like to assign to that Person
- Click 'Save'
Tagging Projects within Roles
- Go to Assignments
- Stay in 'People View'
- Turn on 'Edit Mode'
- Find the Person and open the dropdown to view their assignments
- Hover over the assignment you would like to add a tag to
- Click the 'Tag' Icon
- Find and Select the Tag you would like to add
- Click 'Save'
Tagging in Assignments View - Projects
Tagging Projects
- Go to Assignments
- Go into 'Project View'
- Turn on 'Edit Mode'
- Hover over the Project you would like to add a tag to
- Click the 'Tag' Icon
- Find and Select the Tag you would like to assign to that Project
- Click 'Save'
Tags applied to Projects will be applied to all Roles within the Project. We recommend tagging Projects by industry or location which helps you with both matching people to open roles and segmenting project data in Insights.
Tagging Roles
- Go to Assignments
- Go into 'Project View'
- Turn on 'Edit Mode'
- Find the project and open the dropdown to view all of the project roles
- Hover over the role you would like to add a tag to
- Click the 'Tag' Icon
- Find and Select the Tag you would like to assign to the role
- Click 'Save'
When adding tags to project roles, whether they are assigned or not, tags will always be added to the role and not to the Person. When an Person is removed from the role, the role tags remain intact allowing you to find another resource for the role.
Tagging in Active Projects + Pipeline
A tag applied at the project level will be applied to all project roles. These project and project role tags will help with project assignments and allocations and fits into several workflows. On the Active Projects page, you can:
- Filter by tags
- View tags that are assigned to each project
By clicking the number within the Tags column a modal will pop up giving you the ability to view all of their tags and bring you to the 'Edit People Details' page to add additional tags.
Permissions: Anyone who has permission to project editing can add and remove tags on projects and project roles.
Filtering your Tags
- Click on the tag button
- Search by the filter(s) you would like to apply
- Select Tag
Tagging in the Project Detail Page
Within the header, you can view how many tags are assigned to the project as a whole. In the Tags column, you can see how many tags are assigned to a role.
Tags in Advanced search to assign an Person to an Open Role
- Click the '+ Assign Person'
- View the tag ratio on the left-hand side (the sort order is still by most available)
- Click on the ratio to see which People tags match the open role

Within the Assignments View - People, you can add tags.
Tagging in the People Page
Within the People page, you can search for tags and view the tags that are assigned to each Person. By clicking the number within the Tags column a modal will pop up giving you the ability to view all of their tags and bring you to the 'Edit People Details' page to add additional tags. In the search bar, you can also search by tags.
We do not support searching by tag within the People page general search bar. We recommend using the Tags Search.
Tags in Insights
Use Tags to filter your Insights reports.
Tags in the Utilization Report
Filter by tags applied to People in the following Utilization reports: Advanced, Basic, Breakdown, and Forecast.
Tags in the Resourcing Report
Filter by tags applied to People within Open Roles and Lead Times pages. Filter by tags applied to Project Roles and tags applied to Projects in the Forecast report.
