Overview
With our 7/20 release, we've finally added the ability to associate the Deals you pull in from your CRM to specific Offerings, instead of an entire Project! This allows you to more effectively pull smaller deals into a larger whole and match them up to the Offerings that connect to Timesheets for a more flexible structure within Parallax!
Deal Association
With today's release, you'll see that the Offerings within a Project are now grouped Deal instead of separately. We call these groupings "associations". While multiple Offerings may still be associated to a single Deal as they have in the past, they may now be individually associated with other Deals within the Project or to the Project as a whole.
To explain how these Associations work and how to use them, we've created an entire article - check it out here!
Override Role Name
Roles can mean a lot of things to a lot of different Clients - as a result the Roles you create within Settings > Roles might have titles that are more or less meaningful in different circumstances or with different Clients. Sometimes titles make a big difference, and we want Parallax to be flexible enough to support this!
To that end, we've added the ability to override the names of Roles within a Project in order to reflect the title that most accurately reflects the value the individual is driving for each Project without having to create additional Project Roles.
How does it work?
Overriding the Project Role name is super easy - just add the Role to your Project then complete the following steps:
- Hover over the Role you'd like to override and click on the "..." option that appears.
- From the resulting menu, select "Override Role Name".
- In the module that appears, type out the Name you'd like applied to the Role and Save.
- Check the Role to see that the Name has been replaced!
What changes when I Override a Role Name?
Once you've overridden a Role Name, you'll see this change within the Shaper and the Project Overview Page (as well as an entry in your Project Changelog reflecting the update you made). Each Overridden Role Name will be marked with an Asterisk, and you can hover over that name (or visit Financial Settings) to see the base Project Role Name that has been modified!
